Mavs and Vikings Go Down to the Wire

McLanahan
The Middle School Girls Tennis team travelled to The Village School for their third HJPC match of the season consisting of three singles matches and two doubles matches.  Nadia K. was the first to come off of the courts, and she won her #2 Singles match in straight sets.  After losing her first set at #3 Singles, Emily H. came back to win her second set before losing an extremely close super tie-breaker for the third set.  Then, Dalia lost her #1 Singles match to a very talented Village player in two close sets.  So, after the three singles matches were finished, St. John's was down 1-2, and needed to win both of the doubles matches to win the team match.  Natasha J. and Kaitlyn C. won their #2 Doubles match in two hard fought sets to even the team score to 2-2.  Thus, the outcome of the team match came down to Claire S. and Remy P. in their #1 Doubles match.  Claire and Remy won their first set, and lost their second set.  So, the whole team match came down to the super tie-breaker which Claire and Remy won 10-4, and this gave the Mavs a 3-2 team victory.  To round out the afternoon, both doubles teams of Abigail H./Sophia J. and Mia H./Kate L. won their exhibition doubles matches.  Congratulations to the Vikings and the Mavericks for some very exciting tennis, and thanks to our parents for their wonderful support.
