Boys JV Netters Are Hot after Cold Postpones Dual Match Season

H Graham
It didn't take long for the Maverick JV boys to thaw after being frozen out from the start of their dual match season.
Taking on the Jaguars of The Emery Weiner School, the class of 2023 was well represented by Matthew Lee at Line 1 Singles and the pairing of Harris Lee and James Li at Line 1 Doubles, with each line garnering wins in straight sets.
The contest also featured three debutantes from the Class of 2024. This group showcased Lyndon Huang, Arjun Maitra, and Kathan Kalavar.  Louis Fallaice made his second appearance for the squad after playing in the pre-freeze tournament at Chancellor's Health & Fitness on February 12.
Lyndon and Arjun battled at Line 2 Doubles, losing a tough one in the third set tiebreaker (7-10). Kathan Kalavar partnered with with Louis Fallaice, had a workmanlike win at Line 3 Doubles after a positive result and victory at Line 2 Singles for Louis.
Next up, weather permitting, pits the Mavs against perennial powerhouse Strake Jesuit at their house on February 25.
As the weather heats up, so will our guys on the courts.
Until then, as always, go Mavericks!
