Girls Golf on a Roll with Kingwood Invitational Win

The St. John’s Girls Golf team has now won three-consecutive tournaments after finishing second to the Woodlands A team in their first event of the season at the Bluejack National Invitational. The latest team victory was at the Kingwood High School Varsity Girls Invitational this past weekend, against one of the stronger fields in the Houston area. The Mavericks were led by first place finisher Ashley Yen ’22 (73-72) and Brielle Burns ’24 (76-76) who claimed third overall.  Performances by Kenna Lee ’24 (81-81) and Reyna Ngu ’22 (84-80) were also included in the final team score for the Mavericks who led by only 1 stroke after the first round.  The Mavericks finished strong on day two and pulled away from the field with a score of 623, 13 strokes ahead of Woodlands College Park.  St. John's also won Kinkaid's Lasher Invitational in February and our own SJS Spring Invitational before spring break. Next up is the Episcopal High School Invitational at Quail Valley on April 6.
