Sgouros Wins 3000 meters at Balkan U18 Championships
Congratulations to Emmanuel Sgouros ’22 for winning the 3000 meters at the Balkan U18 Championships held in Kraljevo, Serbia. Running for Greece, Emmanuel posted a personal best time of 8:23.78, just ahead of the second-place runner from Austria who ran an 8:25.52 time. The third-place runner from Serbia clocked in at 8:35.16.
He is the 3000 meter champion in the following categories: 2021 Greek Champion - U18, 2021 Greek Champion - U20, 2021 Balkan Champion - U18. He was planning to participate in the 2021 U18 European Track and Field Championships in Italy, but they were canceled due to COVID.
