The 7th Grade Girls Soccer team played at ROB on a beautiful afternoon for soccer. In the 6th minute, Anna took a long shot from a tough angle that barely missed the goal. In the 23rd minute, Pia kicked a super corner that went off Remy's upper arm and shoulder area into the goal but did not count, and the score remained 0-0 at halftime. In the 4th minute of the second half, Anna kicked a long ball from midfield into the ROB penalty area. Eventually Rachel took a shot that rebounded off of the ROB goalie to Alexys who then sent it to Ellie who got the first goal for the Mavs! Five minutes later, ROB got the equalizer to tie the game at 1-1. A minute later, Rachel almost scored on a breakaway, and Eliza also barely missed the goal on a long breakaway four minutes after that. Then, in the 18th minute, Eliza scored to put the Mavs up 2-1. ROB had a breakaway a couple of minutes later, but Keeley came out off of her line in the goal to secure that ball and the victory for SJS. Congratulations to the Raiders and Mavs for their strong and consistent efforts and good sportsmanship throughout the game, and thanks to our parents for their indispensable support!
