Cheer Ready to Rock from Summer Camp in Austin

Day 2

Hadley Sherrill got runner-up in the Jump Off, JV division, with a toe touch into a back tuck.  Mary Margaret Jones (Sophomore), Jessica Peterson (Freshman), and Jane Liang (Freshman) also participated in the JV division.  Claire Chih (Senior), Maya Reyes (Senior), Halle Monkmeyer (Junior), and Gracie Stamey (Sophomore) represented SJS in the Varsity division.

 

For Game Day evaluations, JV earned an Excellent ribbon (red), and Varsity received a Superior ribbon (blue).

 

Day 3

Story McMillan (Varsity) and Eleanor Maurer (JV) received the UCA "Pin It Forward" Award, a UCA staff-nominated award. These campers are personally selected for going above and beyond in cheer classes, encouraging peers, and bringing great energy.  

 

For Camp Routine evaluations, both teams received Superior (blue) ribbons.

 

Day 4

Congratulations to Camille Wheelock (Varsity) for being selected by a peer-cheerleader for the "Pin It Forward" Award. This award recognizes a person who embodies spirit, positivity, and kindness.

 

Varsity competed in the Small Varsity Division and won 2nd place for the Crowd-Leading Cheer and 4th place for their Spirit Routine.

 

JV competed in the Large JV Division and won 3rd place for their Camp Routine, 5th place for the Spirit Routine, and the Traditions Award. The Traditions Award celebrates a squad that honors and exemplifies traditional cheerleading qualities, which include crowd leadership, clean execution, spirited athleticism, and game-day readiness.

 

Both squads went home with Spirit Sticks, earning them all four days.
