Congratulations to the Varsity Girls and Boys Tennis teams for winning the combined coed 2025 TTCA Private School State Team Championship for the second consecutive year. The Mavericks defeated Live Oak Classical School in the round of 16 (8-0); Central Catholic/Incarnate Word in the quarterfinals (7-0), Dallas Jesuit/Ursuline in the semifinals (7-4); and Kinkaid in the finals (7-4). The dual format combines match scores for girls and boys 1-4 singles, 1 & 2 doubles, and mixed doubles. The first team to reach 7 wins in a dual wins the match. This is the fourth year of the TTCA Private School State Tournament. St. John's finished runners-up in 2022, fourth place in 2023, and first place in 2024.

Lily Dunlap ’26 has been named The Female Award Winner of the Jersey Mike’s Naismith HS Basketball Courage Award, named after Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of the game of basketball. The award “recognizes a high school basketball player who has consistently gone above and beyond throughout the basketball season and has demonstrated courage in their approach to their team, school, and community.”
St. John's Wrestling captured a 7th consecutive Prep State Championship with a score of 229 points. The Mavericks finished with four state champions and three state finalists.

St. John's travels to Fort Worth Country Day for the SPC Championships on Saturday, February 15.
St. John’s Varsity Girls’ Soccer opened SPC tournament play with an extra-time 2-1 win over Duchesne. The Mavericks advanced to the SPC Semifinals against Hockaday and lost in extra time 3-2. On Saturday, St. John's lost to EHS to finish in 4th place overall in the SPC 4A Division.
Jeremy Radcliffe ’92 is back in the booth for another i Mav Radio broadcast (St. John's vs Houston Christian Basketball) on Friday night. Molly Radcliffe Neff '94, parent of Henry Neff '27 and Ella Neff '29, is going to join him for the broadcast. Tip-off for the girls is 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys at 7:00 p.m. at Liu Court.
Congratulations to Eliza Perrin '25 for being named First-Team All-American and Gracey Crawford ’26 for being named Second-Team All-American by Max Field Hockey. Both players were also selected to the West/Mid-West All-Region Team. First-year head coach Emily White was also named Texas Coach of the Year by Max Field Hockey. The Mavericks finished the season ranked #1 in the West/Mid-West Region and #12 in the nation.
