We honored the Class of 2019 St. John's Track & Field Legends on Saturday April 20 during the Nick Finnegan Spring Invitational.  This year's honorees and their familes and friends present were: Candace Bailey Mason '08, Lucy Herring Chambers '81, Margaret Wilson Reckling '78, Coach Macon Hughes, David Boyles '64, William Glasgow '76, and Scotty Hillyer '74 (posthumously and represented by his son and daughter).  Previously honored Legends in attendance at the reception Friday evening and  / or at the ceremony Saturday were Martin Ankamah, David Graham, Bill Gay, Dick Phillips, Gay Goodwin, Jill Ahrens, Ursula Kaestner (for the late Stephen Kaestner), George Hawkins, Bridget Jensen, and Kathy Wheat Huntsman, who organized the event, provided the feast for Friday evening with the help of Pagogh Cho '87, and took many wonderful pictures.  Tom Lykos spoke on behalf of Scotty Hillyer.  All Legends are now honored on the new Legends board on the ramp leading to the lobby of the Smith Student Athletic Center, along with the new Girls and Boys Track & Field Record Boards in yards and meters, donated generously by David Modesset.
