Angie Kensinger will be posthumously inducted into the inaugural class of the Texas Lacrosse Hall of Fame on November 1, 2025, at the Briar Club of Houston. This award is a capstone to a coaching career that was nothing short of legendary and more than deserving of this honor.

Affectionately known as Coach K, Angie Kensinger brought unmatched energy, passion, and love to St. John’s Girls’ Lacrosse. Under her leadership, the Mavericks captured 11 SPC championships, 12 State titles, and 352 victories, but her greatest achievement was the community she built.

Coach K inspired her players to be fearless competitors, supportive teammates, and confident young women. She had a gift for turning every practice and game into a lesson in perseverance, teamwork, and joy. One of her players summed it up best: “Thank you for all you invested in us as competitors, as women, and as human beings.”

Her creativity and spirit shaped the identity of the program. From her unforgettable traditions—like releasing ladybugs on the field for good luck—to the countless ways she bonded players, families, and fans, Angie created an atmosphere where everyone felt part of something bigger than the game.

Though Angie’s life was tragically cut short in a plane crash that also claimed her husband, Stuart (’81), and four other Houstonians, her spirit continues to guide the Mavericks. The ladybug remains a joyful symbol of her love, her lessons, and the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind.
