Mavericks Back on Track with Volleyball Win vs. Fort Bend Christian

James Fuller

The Mavericks shook off their recent loss to St. Agnes and earned a win against the Fort Bend Christian Academy in action Thursday night.  The Mavericks took the win 3-1 with some new lineups and new talent on the floor.  The MVP of the match was Caroline Labanowski who led in both service aces (5) and kills (10) for the match thereby scoring 15 points independently.  Caroline also came in second in digs with 13 behind big sister Jane Labanowski who recorded 15 digs in the match.  This sibling rivalry fared well for the Mavericks with Jane also recording 9 kills to rank second in that category.  Other standout talent included Briana Williams, more commonly seen on the basketball court, but who showed that she could also rule the volleyball court by earning the highest attack percentage of the night with 4 kills on 9 attempts on top of 2 successful blocks and her first service ace of the season.  Courtney Buass was third in digs with 8.
