Saturday was a banner day for the Mavericks! We had great weather, and great races! Our boys set the tone for the day with some very exciting performances. (In fact, Maverick Boys Teams were victorious across the board!)

Joe Faraguna set a blistering pace that left the rest of the field in the dust. He finished the 2 mile course with a time of 11:24.00, beating the second place finisher by 35 seconds! Michael finished third with a time of 12:11.19, missing 2^nd place by less than 2 seconds. He battled the 4^th place runner for the 3^rd spot in a very exciting finish, winning the 3^rd spot by half a second! Grayson Christ, Nolan Peacock, and Mikael Rauf rounded out our top 5 finishers for a final score of 51, beating out second place AOS who had 57 points.

Our girls also saw some very exciting racing. While they missed out on the first place plaque, it was only by a mere 9 points. Margaret Trautner and Gracie Firestone led the Maverick pack over the 2 mile course, finishing with time of 13:23 and 13:25. Olivia Havel (13:36), Francie Williams (13:41) and Noel Higgason (14:18) rounded out our top five finishers.

 

We look forward to both of our Middle School Cross Country teams finishing the season successfully. After the AOS Dolphin Dash meet this Thursday at TC Jester Park, we have our HJPC meet back at Buffalo Bayou Park on our home course. We look forward to seeing great racing from both teams!
