Season Continues as Mavericks Travel to Awty International

March 25, 2015 – Awty International Hosts St. John’s Boys’ JV Tennis (Awty prevails 3-1)
Then Boys’ JV team had a quick turnaround, heading over to the courts at Awty International. Playing in blustery conditions, the gents took the court.
In singles, Andrew Awad Playing at Line 1, looked to build on Tuesday’s result. The opposition proved very tough, winning several deuce points to take the win. At Line 2, Sadde Mohamed fought determinedly in a seesaw battle featuring trades of service breaks, with our Maverick holding last to close out the match 8-6.
In doubles, the Awty Rams fielded teams featuring strength and variety, creating problems for both Maverick tandems. At Line 1, Jonathan Bloom and Will Rippteo fought hard and close, dropping the match 3-8. At Line 2, Charlie Neuhaus and Drew Woodfolk battled high bounding balls, savvy play at net, and tough key points to have the same line score of 3-8.
