The St. John's Maverick JV Boys' Tennis Team hosted the Briarwood School at the Homer Ford Tennis Center on the first day of March and the squad's results roared like the proverbial lion.
Taking the court in singles were Kenjy Chevray and Kevin Jung, with both garnering victories.
On the doubles' courts, the teams of Raunak Kundagrami/Eli Maierson and Vivek Kapur/Alex Ham came out with a win and the tandem of Ethan Boniuk/Eric Hang gave it their best but fell in a hard fought match.
Those traveling with the squad also included Ribhu Nag, Davis Flowers, Andrew Tockman, and Roosh Bhosali.
All in all, a good day on the courts, featuring the debuts of Kenji Chevray, Eli Maierson, Raunak Kundagrami, Vivek Kapur, Alex Ham. Ethan Boniuk, and Eric Hang.
Next on the calendar, on Friday, March 4, our Mavericks travel to play Concordia Lutheran at Lone Star College.
Come on out and cheer the boys on.
Until then, cheers and go Mavericks!
