Mavericks Have Great Day 1 at SPC!

Girls are in 2nd place just behind EHS and boys in a solid 4th after Day 1!  We had several All SPC performecnes and PRs today.  Jackie Champan SP / DT champion and new school record in SP!  Bianca Sieler 2nd in SP and 3rd in DT.  Bella Cantorna 2nd place SB in PV, Caroline Basu 2nd in TJ and Val Doss PR for 7th, Val Doss PR to tie for 5th in HJ, Journey Zulueta PR for 5th in LJ and Caroline Basu 7th in LJ, Mimi Villa passed two riunners in the final lap to secure 8th place in 3200m, and the girls 4x800 placed 5th.  Connor Walsh placed 2nd in the SP, Will Lane threw 2 PRs to place 6th in the DT, Marshall Dunahoe was 7th in HJ and Akash McCracken a big PR for 2nd in HJ! Michael Murphy placed 8th int he LJ and Maddox Kuy PRed in the TJ.  Max Martin tied his PR in swirling winds for 4th place in the PV.  Jay Woodhouse finished strong for 4th in the 3200m and Lyle Raymond ran a PR, and the boys team of Danny Wasserman, Henry Caputo, Jack Litton, and Andrew Wasserman ran a season best for 3rd place ALL-SPC in the 4x800 Relay!  

The girls trail EHS by just 6.5 points going into day 2, and the boys are 16.5 points behind Kinkaid and sitting in 4th.  Tomorrow is a big day with lots of good seeds on both the girls and boys teams.
