Mavericks suffer first loss to Eagles
The Mavericks suffered their first loss of the season yesterday to the Second Baptist Eagles from TAPPS 5A, 4-2. The Mavericks had 4 errors in the field that lead to 3 of the four runs being unearned.
Offensively, Nora Niebruegge had a big day at the plate going 3 for 4 in the lead off spot. In addition she scored a run, had an RBI and also a triple. Regan Rau had a hit that scored Nora after her triple. Gabby Wise and Terrell Finnegan collected singles to round out the hitting. Pitcher Melissa Baker suffered the loss, but gave up only 5 hits while striking out 7 batters.
