Mavericks slay Dragons

The Mavericks traveled north to the Woodlands last night to take on SPC foe John Cooper in a non-counter game.  The Mavericks scored nineteen runs on nineteen hits in a seven inning game.  The team scored 4 runs in the second inning, 8 in the third, and 7 more in the top of the 7th inning.  Nora Niebruegge led the offensive attack going 4 for 5 at the plate.  Virginia Waldrop, Regan Rau, and Susan Watkins had three hits each.  Gabby Wise and Cat Cain had 2 hits each.  Danielle Pike and Terrell Finnegan had one each. 
Extra base hits were by Virginia with 3 triples, Nora and Regan had two doubles, Gabby, Cat and Susan had one each.
Lizzy Padhi knocked in one run on a fielders choice single and scored a run as the DH.
Melissa Baker had an outstanding perfomance as the pitcher striking out 8 opponents for her sixth win of the year.
