Mavericks defeat Barons
The Mavericks defeated the St. Mary's Hall Barons on Saturday morning in South Zone play 13-6. Nora Niebruegge and Regan Rau had big days at the plate, with Nora having 4 hits and scoring 3 times. Regan had 3 hits and scored twice. Regan also picked off a runner at first on a great throw to Virginia Waldrop.
Susan Watkins had two hits and scored 3 runs, Virginia had one hit and scored twice, Boo Mayer had one hit and scored twice. Rounding out the offense were Dani Pike, Laura Burdine and Terrell Finnegan with one hit each. Cat Cain had two hits for two r.b.i.'s. Freshman Laura Burdine picked up the win striking out 10 opponents.
