CARDINALS CLIPPED BY MAVERICKS

On a lovely early spring evening, the Mavericks hosted the Cardinals from Bellaire and came away with a convincing 15-3 win.  The players were urged to "set the tone" from the first whistle, and Alex Beckham took note of the pre-game prompt, as she snagged the draw, zipped off down field, fed a perfect pass, and in the span of just 11 seconds, Joan Scheirman let everyone know she was back with a well placed goal!  Nice start, Mavs!  Remember that we can score in just 11 seconds later in the season!

It was a balanced scoring effort, with some beautiful goals in the mix.  SUrdahl led the charge with 3G/1A; along with Lacey & Jess with 1G/3A; Joanie with 3G (welcome back!); AB & Gibson with 2G/1A;   Gracer with 2G and Lily with 1G.  Defensively, Krissy, MA, Kelsey, Sarah D. and Mer continued to dominate.  Great job, Mavs!  Eight different scorers on 15 goals, along with 10 of 15 assisted goals.

The team heads to Florida tomorrow for two and one half days of intense lacrosse!  Lots of games, lots to work on, lots of fun to be had!
