It took about as long as the bus trip for the Mavericks to get on the board and pull away from the Eagles. Carl Bernicker '14 tallied the first goal of the season just over a minute into the game. David Edwards '13, Michael Cregan '13, Cade Shanks '14, Douglas Berkman '12, and Ben Griffin '13 rounded out the scoring in the first period to make it 6-0 St. John's. Bernicker fired in the first goal in the next quarter and Berkman followed with 2 more including a shot at the buzzer for a 9-0 half time lead.
Chris Gow '12, William Griffin '13, Shanks, Jonathan Newar '13, Edwards, Jack Craddock '12, Eric Hobby '13, and Berkman found net in the second half to make it 18 on the night. Cregan had a team high 4 assists.
Logan Smith '13 and Ben Griffin led the Mavericks with 8 and 7 gb's respectively. Nate Whittle '12 and Scott Hereford '13 combined for 6 saves.
