Travels to outside places spark growth and reveal what's on the inside.  On a road trip to the Woodlands, St. John's Varsity Boys' Lacrosse researched themselves inside and out.

St. John's discovered, when fully present, they can tip the scales in their favor in a matter of milliseconds.  Twice they were outscored by the Woodlands by at least 5 unanswered goals, and both times St. John's responded.

Down 7-1 in the second period, St. John's cut the lead to 3 only to give up a late goal to go down 8-4 at the half.  The Mavericks cut it to three again, but the Woodlands pulled away again on a 5 goal stretch for a 13-5 commanding lead at the end of the 3rd period.

Something revealing happened in the final quarter.  Out of the mire, with 5:20 to go, The Mavericks slid, scooped, passed, shot, and finished to cut the lead to 4 with over 3 minutes remaining.

After the Woodlands called a time out, St. John's stayed with a total team effort until the final horn went off, losing their first game of the season.

In conclusion, time and teamwork in the present, not talent, were the greater controlling variables.  Under the microscope, the change in score, not the final, is where the difference was made.
