Great First day of SPC for the Mavericks!

The Mavericks had a great first day of SPC, with some key boys and girls qualifiers and some All-SPC performances.  

The boys 4x100 relay team of Risher Randall, Josh Otey, Nathan Avery, and Lee Hampton ran the fastest time in probably 15-20 years in the prelims to qualify second, Lee Hampton placed   7th in the Long Jump, Risher Randall qualified for the 300 Hurdles with a big PR, and many sprinters ran PRs today!  In the 3200 meters, Joe Faraguna finished 5th overall, and the boys 4x800 relay team of Jake Peacock, Joe Faraguna, Philip Taffet, and Akshay Jaggi placed 6th.  

Jackie Modesett was 3rd in the High Jump, Briana Williams was third in the Discus Throw, and Stephanie Guo was 4th in the Triple Jump and 5th in the High Jump.  The girls 4x800 relay team of Margaret Trautner, Francie Williams, Noel Higgason, and Elise Viguet finished third and All-SPC!  Lillian Chen placed 7th in the 3200 meter run and Grace VanLoh was 8th in theTriple Jump.  The girls have several key qualifers tomorrow, including the top 4x100 relay team of Stephanie Guo, Abby    Avery, Sam Night, and Jackie Modesett; Jackie, Stephanie, and Grace VanLoh in the 100 hurdles and Jackie and Stephanie in the 300 hurdles; Sam Night in both the 100 and 200 meters, and Elise Viguet in the 400 meters.
