Maverick JV Boys' Tennis Get One Last Trip in Before Spring Break
Harold Graham
The Maverick JV Boys' Tennis Team gathered one last time before heading off in all directions for Spring Break 2016, traveling down to the Harry Taylor Tennis Center in Pasadena, Texas very early on an overcast, damp Friday. 16 players made the trek, with all 16 playing at least two matches. The lads fielded four lines of Singles (Kenji Chevray, Naveen Krishnan, Raunak Kundagrami, and William Wallace) and six lines of Doubles (featuring the tandems of Ryan Chang/Nicholas Echeverri, Kevin Jung/Ribhu Nag, Louis Morrell/Will Rippeto, Eli Maierson/Andy Tockman, Ethan Boniuk/Eric Hang, Roosh Bhosale/Vivek Kapur). 19 matches were played with 14 victories and 15 defeats, including five in which Maverick teammates faced each other in the tournament draws. All in all, a full day of tennis before accelerating into our break. Good holiday to everyone and mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 22, as the Mavericks reconvene and travel north to take on John Cooper. Until then, go Mavericks!
