Girls and Boys in Good Position After Day 1 at SPC
After Day 1 Field Events, 3200 meters, and 4x800 relays, both Maverick teams are in good position to go for the title on Saturday. Led by Peyton Brown's 3200 meter and Katie Isaac's Discus Throw wins, a girls 4x800 school record for first place, Isabelle Paine's 3rd place in the Long Jump, and Katie Hasley and Ana Maria Rodriguez finishing 5-6 in the Shot Put, the Girls are in 3rd place with running finals to come tomorrow.
The Boys placed 3rd in the 4x800 relay and had good points from Drew Woodfolk in the 3200 meters, Jarrell Sims in the Discus Throw, and August Windham and Will Marx in the Pole Vault and High Jump respectively. Genson Hooper Price placed well in the Long Jump and broke the school record in the Triple Jump to finish first! The boys are in 4th place but sitting well with running events tomorrow.
