Mavs' Comeback Falls Short

After relatively easy wins, the Cy Fair Iron Maidens quickly showed the Mavs that this game was going to be completely different.  Cy Fair came out strong and scored 4 straight before the Mavs could get on the board.  The Iron Maidens were skilled and athletic so the Mavs had to fight hard to get back into the game.  Showing tenacity, we did just that.  From that point, the Mavs played Cy Fair evenly, leaving the Iron Maidens with a 9-5 lead with only a few minutes left in the game.  The Mavs then upped their game by scoring 3 straight goals.  With the lead cut to one, the Mavs won the draw with less than a minute left.  While we got off a quality shot to tie the game, the Iron Maiden goalie was up to the task and made a crucial safe.  Though not the result we wanted, the tenacity and improvement we showed throughout  is a good sign for the future.
