The SJS Girls Tennis Team began its main counter match play this week with wins against Episcopal and Houston Christian.
Earlier in the week, the Team easily won its match against Episcopal 7-0. Nadia Khera was victorious playing line 1 singles 6-0 6-1. Playing line 2 singles, Dahlia Khera was convincing in her 6-1 6-0 win. Charlotte Papeians had little trouble in her 6-0 6-0 victory at line 3 singles. Finishing up singles, Emma Chang won her match 8-3 playing line 4 singles. Isabella O’Reilly (captain) and Ava Phan won their match 6-0 6-1 at line 1 doubles. Playing line 2 doubles, Hannah Chang (captain) and Natasha Jannsens easily defeated their opponents 6-0 6-0. The doubles team of Kate Lu and Mia Hong were victorious in their 8-0 win at line 3 doubles.
Next up for the Team was Houston Christian, where the Team rolled to another dominant 5-0 victory. Isabella Diaz-Mira won a hard fought match at line 1 singles 6-2 7-5. At line 2 singles, Nadia Khera easily beat her opponent 6-0 6-0. Charlotte Papeians was victorious in her match 6-0 6-3, playing line 3 singles. The doubles team of Isabella O’Reilly (captain) and Ava Phan had little trouble with their 6-2 6-0 victory at line 1 doubles. Wrapping up the team win, Hannah Chang (captain) and Dahlia Khera convincingly won their match 6-0 6-1 at line 2 doubles.
The undefeated Team will get much deserved one week break after Easter and then will resume counter match play to finish the season strong.
