Mavericks Prevail at The Woodlands

The Middle School Girls Tennis team travelled to The Woodlands to play John Cooper in 3 singles matches and 2 doubles matches on a sunny day.  Remy won her #1 Singles match in straight sets.  After splitting sets, Sophia J. won her #2 Singles match 10-8 in the third set tiebreaker.  The next match featured Skylar & Dalia at #1 Doubles who lost in two close sets.  Morgan clinched the match under the lights for the Mavericks winning her #3 Singles match in straight sets.  At #2 Doubles, Kristen & Jennifer lost their first set, came back to win their second set in a tiebreaker, and then won their third set tiebreaker 10-8.  Congratulations to the Dragons and the Mavericks for their excellent efforts.  Thanks to the players, coaches, and families at John Cooper who waited patiently for the Mavericks to arrive (an hour late) after their bus had a flat tire on the road.  Thanks, also, to our bus driver who handled the situation wonderfully.  And, thank you to our parents for their most valuable support!
