Season Opens with Win versus Strake Jesuit
On a bright, sunny day, the Maverick JV Boys traveled to Strake Jesuit to begin their dual match season.
Six made the journey.
Match play began with three lines of doubles.
The pairings for our boys from Claremont were Graham Johnson/William Liang at Line 1, Boone Roeser/Patrick Tsang at Line 2, and Micah Kan/Teo Nelson filling out at Line 3. The Jesuit Knights proved to be just a bit better in doubles, taking Lines 1 & 2 with our Mavericks prevailing at Line 3.
Our lads kicked things into a higher gear in the Singles, taking 5 out of 6 matches, concluding to a final match scoreline of 6 to the Mavs and 3 to the hosting Knights.
The next match on the calendar is against Houston Episcopal High School on Tuesday, February 20, at Homer Ford Tennis Center. Play begins at 3:30 PM.
