It Was a Great Day at Houston Christian

The CRAZY wind was an added opponent today, yet we had a great win at Houston Christian!  HC has beautiful courts on their campus, and they are wonderful hosts.  We had six girls to play their big squad and each of our  girls had a great time playing both a singles and doubles match!
We played doubles first and Lines 1-3 had easy wins, all 8-0:
Line 1- Lini and Sophia
Line 2- Dalia and Lauren
Line 3-  Begoña and Eva
and a bonus Line 4- Begoña and Sophia
Singles was equally one-sided:
Line 1- Lini 8-2
Line 2...I'll come back to this
Line 3- Sophia 8-2
LIne 4- Lauren 8-3
Line 5- Eva 8-2
Line 6- Begoña 8-2
So back to Line 2 Singles... Dalia had the match of her career to date.  She played a super strong opponent and the score went back and forth with each moving the other around the court with varying hard, soft, deep,  shallow, wide right, wide left, and down the middle shots.  It was a battle on the windy spring courts of HC. Dalia was up 7-6 with a possible 7-7 game score looming which would send it to a tie breaker.  Dalia had been here before in a match v. a HC player last year...yet, she focused on the game rather than the history of the other match.  Dalia played her game, and the tie breaker went back and forth.  At 6 all, a crowd formed cheering on both players.  The final tie breaker score was 6-8 with the HC player with the win.  No regrets on this match...Dalia is a rock star!!!
