Girls' Volleyball Hitting Stride
Girls' Varsity Volleyball has won 14 of their last 17 matches. They posted a third-place finish at the Houston Open followed by a second-place showing at the FAST Private School Invitational.
The Houston Open was highlighted by an intense 2-1 loss vs rival and eventual tournament champion Episcopal. St. John's eventually finished third-place. Senior Alexandra Lewis and Sophomore Nova Manning were named to the ALL TOURNAMENT team. The FAST Invitational saw a different outcome for the Mavericks when they faced another SPC opponent in Houston Christian. The Mavericks swept the Mustangs and went 5-1 on the weekend with their only loss coming in the championship match against Concordia Lutheran. Their first SPC conference match is October 11, 6:30 p.m. at Houston Christian.
